“Poppies and Sampaguitas” is a body of work by Jaana Baker, comprising of paintings, photographs, installation, and soft sculpture, that explores her identity as a Filipino-American. The issues that it touches are as varied as the media used: from femininity and gender roles, to immigration and displacement. In 2021, it was exhibited at the Brea Gallery as part of its annual “Made in California” exhibit.
